I finally went grocery shopping. Seriously we had no food. My fridge was so bare I was able to clean it without moving anything out.
I found this great recipe on Pinterest that is delish! I am on a chocolate peanut butter kick so this is perfect.
It's really simple. Melt the choc with a little milk, cover the banana-peanut butter pieces and freeze for 3 hours on the tray. Then remove and keep in freezer container. It's a great little semi-healthy sweet fix.
Mine didn't look quite as perfect as the Pinterest picture but hey they taste the same!
I have been wanting to make salsa for a while and finally got the stuff to do it. It's a fave in Spring-Summer here. I'm pretty sure D could live on salsa and tortilla chips.
I don't follow a recipe but here is the jists of it.
Canned tomatos-drained
Sweet onion
green pepper
red pepper
habenero-I use the seeds to give it kick
1 TB minced garlic
fresh lime juice
salt-pepper-garlic salt-garlic powder-chili powder to taste.
I have an old school chopper thing I bought in college that works great to chop the veggies. You can use any chopper or just cut in small pieces.
Salsa is really simple to make. You can add subtract pretty much anything. I hate cilantro but add it in if you like it. I have found that canned tomatoes work better than fresh, it actually tastes better too. You can also use red onion instead of sweet and jalapenos instead of habeneros or none at all if you want mild.
I add mango somethings and extra habenero. It's yummy.
Happy Prepping...since there is really no cooking involved!

Breakfast Shake, thank you Pinterest!
Why did I resist joining Pinterst for so long? I am obsessed! I really wanted a yummy breakfast shake I could make and I did a search and presto!
Peanut butter-chocolate-banana shake!
1 Tbl cocoa powder (unsweetened)
2 Tbl peanut butter (I used Whole Foods natural creamy)
1/2 banana (I froze mine)
1 cup vanilla soy milk or almond milk
splash of vanilla extract (optional)
add some ice if you want it thicker (I used 2 ice cubes and the frozen banana)
Blend and enjoy!!
The peanut butter keeps you full all morning and it's very low calorie. Delicious!
And because everything is better with a mustache decal. (found here)

Spring
Maybe I should say summer! It has been 70+* here which is way over the norm. And it's still technically winter! It has been awesome!!
Flowers are sprouting, everyone is out and about, summer clothes are coming out, and some much needed vitamin D is being welcomed. We had the most amazing weather this weekend and we were crazy busy but it was wonderful!
Given the unseasonably hot weather I had to make an emergency trip to Old Navy to get little man some Spring clothes because his summer clothes are still too big. Thank god for sales and coupons!
The jogging stroller has been dusted off and already getting good use.
Errands with mom and dad and all the fresh air makes for one pooped baby.
St Patties we had a sitter for a few hours and went out for a few drinks, some much needed adult time.
The nice weather will surely cool off a bit but I'm grateful for what we've had and either way it's Spring!!!!

Stander Fun!
The stander is a success and B loves being able to be in an upright position. He tires out after about 30 min but he will get stronger each day. Right now we do 30 min twice a day. The goal is to double that (1 hr twice a day).
He was quite the ham today. We are enjoying this 75* degree day!

Back in Service
I have been MIA this week and it's not due to laziness...my laptop decided to crash due to a virus!! A few days at the hospital(Best Buy) and she is all better. And luckily my hard drive was saved because who actually listens to the tech guys and backs up there hard drive?? Not me.
To catch you all up...
B had his 18 month check up last weekend. Still no teeth but he gets a gold star from the pediatrician. He got his second flu shot as there is a stain going around right now and (knock on wood) B has not been sick this winter. Really he has only had two small colds his whole life. I guess 5 months in the hospital with meningitis makes up for never having a cold, LOL. He's good for a few years at least right?
B is 25lb 4oz - 32.5" (50th % for both).
I had another Pinterest success for dinner. Easy Garlic Chicken. Yum!! And thank you to Whole Foods for having twice baked in the deli!!
Recipe found here. I listened to the reviews and added some sweet onion and cooked 375* for 30 min. It was yummy!
B got his stander (finally). He likes it so far. We will aim for one hour a day and then go up from there. He looks so unhappy in this pic but right after I took it he was all smiles.
His chair also came, you can see in the back of this pic. We are waiting for a different head support for the chair and then he will be able to play and eat in his chair too. The EI (early intervention) is amazing. We get all this equipment for free from the state. It's such a huge help, this equipment is really expensive!
It has been Spring in Chicago!!! Gorgeous sunny weather!!! 50's/60's/ and even 70's. My winter boots are packed and my flats are out!!!! Next up is a much needed pedicure!!
Little man is cuter than ever. Melts my heart.
We got a sound machine and I don't know what I did without this. B was using his sleep sheep. Great in theory but the timer only goes to 45 min. B would wake up every 45 min when the sheep turned off. In turn waking us up. It was not fun. Finally we found a sound machine that has a timer option but will play all night!!! Hallelujah! B has been sleeping so well and so have I, the sound machine is amazing!! Why didn't I think of this sooner. (Preggo moms or new moms...don't get the sleep sheep or baby sound machines...get a regular sound machine...way better)
